If you want something, you need to consciously make an intention. Then you need to take whatever action is necessary in order to make it a reality. Sounds simple, and it is. But it's not always easy.
Here are some tips to get you started:
- Put aside some quiet time by yourself.
- With a notebook and pen (or laptop or other writing device), get comfortable and relax.
- Let your mid wander and imagine your wish list for your relationship. As ideas come to mind, write them down. Don't edit yourself. Don't talk yourself out of your wish list. Simply put your thoughts down on paper (or type them on the keyboard.)
- When you feel you've come to an end point, stop writing.
- Close your eyes. Take a breath in and out. Relax.
- Now review your wish list. Ask yourself what you need to do to achieve each of the wishes on your list. If it's not immediately clear how to make that change or achieve that dream, then perhaps you are not ready. Perhaps your partner is not ready (it always takes two!). Then again, maybe you need more time to sit and think and figure out a way to realize whatever it is you want.
- Keep your list in a place out of sight, but easy to reach. Go to it whenever you need to. Remind yourself of your dreams. Keep acting on making them real.
At the end of the year, when you go back over your list, you may just be surprised!
